Diet Aide

DAYS/HOURS/SHIFTS: PT 3pm-7:30 pm, including weekends.

JOB SUMMARY: Provide high quality, caring service to residents and guests at scheduled meals and special events. Maintain food service areas in a neat, clean and sanitary manner. Interact with residents, guests and co-workers in a friendly and helpful manner. Assure that foods and beverages served residents are healthful and of good quality, and that all residents who are on restricted or prescribed diets receive foods and beverages conforming to their dietary needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience as a diet aide and some knowledge of nutritional sciences are desirable. Must acquire a food handler's certification from the local Health Department within 30 days of hire. Effectively read, write, and communicate in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Stands and walks most of the working day. Bends, stretches, reaches for, lifts, and carries pots and pans of food. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and push/pull carts (approximately 50 pounds) to and from dining areas.
